The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is a progressive, autonomous, and nationally recognised board that conducts the ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) examinations.
Established in 1958, the CISCE Board has grown into a trusted educational institution that currently serves over 3,300 schools, 35 lakh+ students, and 1.5 lakh+ teachers across India and five countries.

Our Journey Since 1958
The roots of the CISCE Board trace back to the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate. In 1958, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations was formally established in New Delhi to take forward a vision of high-quality, student-centred education in independent India.
Over the years, we have continuously evolved — introducing progressive assessment methods, expanding subject choices, strengthening Indian ethos, and aligning with the spirit of the National Education Policy — while staying true to our founding principles of excellence and integrity.
